Creating the ‘Michael-E.com’ site has been quite a challenge.
Not so much from the actual production or implementation of the site itself, but rather from the philosophical view of ‘content’. Over the years the manner in which I have used this ‘dot.com’ has changed several times. And it will likely change in the future. It’s been sort of like a snapshot for the current events of my life.
For now, the focus of my web site is for blogging. It’s my own, Socrates’ corner. A place where I have the opportunity to stand in the town
square and speak my words for any who care to listen. Not unlike what was done in ancient Greece around 400 BC. It’s not my intent to preach. Nor am I seeking a flock to preach to. And while I’m not seeking approval, I am interested in dialog & debate. So I am putting my thoughts and opinions down on paper, and then making them available for others to consider. Thanks to the internet, this publication process can happen almost instantaneously. As well, feedback from people of all walks of life and from all corners of the globe can be provided just as quickly. This feedback, helps me consider ideas & concepts that I might not have otherwise discovered on my own. It allows me to step outside the metaphorical ‘box’ that we all live in and see things from a different perspective. So I encourage dialog and debate.
My posts will reflect whatever mood or topic that I happen to be interested in on that day. Over time, the site will evolve to become it’s own entity. Where the essence is more than the sum of it’s parts. At least, I hope so.
